Pelican Energy Foundation
To extend Pelican’s community impact beyond the time, talent and treasures of its employees, in 2015 Pelican formed the Pelican Energy Foundation to encourage giving by its clients, vendors, friends and family within the community. Pelican Energy Foundation is a non-profit corporation with a 501(c)(3) tax status.
The Pelican Energy Foundation anticipates sponsoring a Gala fundraising event every two years and contributing the funds raised, and Pelican matching funds, to preselected Community charities.
PELICAN ENERGY GALA 2015
In 2015, Pelican Energy Foundation began the tradition of hosting a “Pelican Gala” by inviting employees, clients, vendors, friends, and many more to share in supporting local charities. The first Gala was held on September 26, 2015, at Vintage Court in Covington, LA, and benefited Children’s Museum of St. Tammany and Cancer Crusaders. The inaugural theme, The Great Gatsby, took participants back in time to the Roaring Twenties when silent movies were the place to be seen and lavish parties were a frequent occurrence. Guests were entertained by The Boogie Men, while enjoying specialty foods, distinctive libations and mouth-watering desserts. Guests enjoyed a Silent Auction filled with fabulous items and gift certificates. From start to finish, everyone had a Roaring Good Time! The event was a huge success thanks to the great community we live in and all the local support from the sponsors, volunteers and party goers!!
The 2015 Pelican Gala benefited these organizations :
- Madisonville, LA—Children’s Museum of St. Tammany—Imagine a dramatic 20,000 square foot, hands-on learning environment. One that serves the developmental needs and cognitive interests of children, provides entertainment to families and expands upon the curriculum of our schools.
- Metairie, LA—Cancer Crusaders—Cancer Crusaders is a 100% donation-based, all-volunteer organization dedicated to supporting Louisiana in its battle against cancer. Since its founding in 1976, the organization has donated more than $3 million to LSU’s Stanley S. Scott Cancer Center and Tulane Cancer Center endowments—fostering the growth of countless clinical research studies and paving the way for a state-of-the-art treatment center in New Orleans.
